Dingwall Free Church

Dingwall Free church was founded in 1844, and its first minister was Dr. John Kennedy.  He preached in both Gaelic and English, and spearheaded opposition to a proposed union of the Free and United Presbyterian Churches.

 

Porter’s Lodge

The Porter’s Lodge for the Ross Memorial Hospital was erected in 1895 by The West Ross Farmer’s Club, in memory of Provost David Ross – a longstanding secretary of the club.

 

St Clement’s Churchyard

This ancient site (1510) contains St. Clement’s Aisle.  Now ruined and overgrown probably dates back to Viking times.  A Pictish stone was also found at its gate in 1878.  It serves  – possibly dating
